Also present, Ralph Been, President of North Queensbury Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. , Rae Hopkins, President of West Glens Falls Fire -- Co. No. 1, Inc.41so Arthur Duell, Chauncey Didio and James Duell. The board discussed the claims of the fire companies for services at fires P rior-to the effective date of the contracts. Resolution #5a introduced by Justice Bentley, seconded by Councilman RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and is hereby authorized and directed to transfer from surplus money the sum of $1300 to the Protection of Persons and Property fund. Also present Jess Smith, Fred Miller, Frank Cowles. i Mr. Jess Smith called on the Board in reference to a plot of ground on which it was proposed to erect a firehouse which is now owend by the Town. In connection therewith, the following communication was read to the Board: Glenwood Avenue, Glens Falls, N.Y. , Sept. 24, 1949 Town Board .Glens N.Y. i Dear Sirs: The Members of The Queensbury Centr&l Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. , are desirous of obtaining a building lot in the Pine View Cem- etery Tract, facing Route number 9. This lot to be 150 feet by 200 feet, and to be the second lot on Route #9 from the corner of the Pine View Cemetery Road. This lot is to be used as a site for a fire- house to house the pumper. WHEREAS the Queensbury Central Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. , has made application to acquire from the Town a lot of land from lands conveyed to the Town by the Pine View Cemetery for the purpose of erecting a firehouse thereon, Therefore be it resolved that the Supervisor be and is hereby authorized and directed to appoint a committee of two to ascertain the power of the Town to convey or lease such land. Duly adopted by -the following vote: Ayes-Mr. Walkup, Mr. Bentley, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Sleight, and Mr. Harris Noes - none The Supervisor pursuant to the above resolution, appointed Justice Ben- tley and Justice Sleight as a committee to ascertain the power of the Town to convey or lease lands within the Pine View Cemetery Tract.
