To the Sept. 24-1949 Town Board of Queensbury, Ridge Road, Glens Falls, N.Y. Gentlemen: I have the pleasure in submitting herewith for your information and files - prints of the completed plans for the installation of water mains in Glenwood Avenue from State Highway 9 to the end of the existing main near Bay Road - in Lafayette Street from the 12" main on State Highway 9 towards Pine View Road about 990 feet - and in Garrison Road from the end of the 6 0 ,main at North Road easterly to the end of the main near Bay Road, entailing a total installation of about 7485 lin.ft. at an estimated cost of about $31,000. In connection with the installation of these mains it will be necessary to receive approval from the NYS Dept. of Public Works 'to make the connection to the existing 12" main on the westerly side of the concrete surface across such surface and into ,Lafayette Street. Also to receive approval of the NYS Public Service Commission for changing the highway crossing of Glenwood Avenue as planned and approved by Herrick Osborne, the Warren County Supt. of Highways on the suggestion of your Hon. body. The Railroad Company has no ob - jections to making this change provided the railroad facilities are relocated in a proper manner at no cost to the Railroad Corporation. Also the consent and agreement of the property owners affected by such change in road location as to make available to the County the necessary rights of way involved in such change. Also the necessary agreement with Durk Doyle as to relocation of several physical iiprovements on his property which would be di - rectly affected by the proposed change in location of the road and highway. Application must also be made to the NYS Dept. of Labor for a wage scale listing which must be made a part of the specifications IF the work is to be let by contract. I believe that approval is also necessary to be acquired and permits issued for the construction work from the Queensbury .Town Supt. of Highways. Permits must also be filled in and submitted to the Warren Coun- ty Supt. of Highways before construction work can be started. I would further call your attention to the requirement of the Marren County Dept. of Highways that "Any damage whatever, done to the pavement of the Glenwood Avenue County Road will have to be borne by the Contractor and/or the Town of Queensbury. Provision has been made in the estimates of cost for the restoration of these paved areas, whether within State, County or Town Highway limits. It is my understanding that these various ,applicationa for permits and permissions should originate with your Board over the signature of your Chairman. Awaiting your further pleasures, I am, Very truly yours, (Signed) Ermest L.H. Meyer Ernest L.H.
