4.09 4.9 APPOINTMENTS\\Establish Groundskeeper in Cemetery and Appoint Raymond Wood– 10-7-19 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING GROUNDSKEEPER POSITION IN CEMETERY DEPARTMENT AND APPOINTING RAYMOND WOOD RESOLUTION NO.: __________________________________________________, 2019 INTRODUCED BY: __________________________________________________ WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: __________________________________________________ WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Town of Queensbury’s Cemetery Superintendent, the Town Board wishes to establish a full-time Groundskeeper position in the Cemetery Department in accordance with a job description for such a position previously adopted by the Warren County Department of Personnel and Civil Service, and WHEREAS, the Town Board and the Town’s Unit of the Civil Service Employees Association, Inc., (CSEA) have agreed that this new position shall be an hourly position on a Tuesday through Saturday schedule and to be included in the Town’s CSEA Bargaining Unit at the hourly rate of pay identical to that of the MEO position delineated in the Town’s current Agreement with the CSEA, and WHEREAS, the Cemetery Superintendent posted availability for the position, reviewed resumes and has made a hiring recommendation to the Town Board to hire Raymond Wood, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby establishes the hourly, full-time Groundskeeper position working on a Tuesday through Saturday schedule in the Cemetery Department in accordance with the Groundskeeper job description for such a position previously adopted by the Warren County Department of Personnel and Civil Service, such position to be included in the Town’s CSEA Bargaining Unit and added to the Union Contract at the next Contract opening, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes and directs the hiring of Raymond Wood as a full-time Groundskeeper in the Town’s Cemetery Department, subject to Mr. Wood’s successful passing of a pre-employment physical as required by Town Policy and successful completion of a twenty-six (26) week probationary period, and contingent upon the Town successfully completing background checks as reasonably necessary to judge fitness for the duties for which hired and drug and/or alcohol screening, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that Mr. Wood shall be paid at the hourly rate of pay identical to that of the MEO position as set forth in the Town’s current Agreement with the Civil Service Employees Association, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Cemetery Superintendent and/or Town Budget Officer to complete any forms and take any actions necessary to establish the position and effectuate all terms of this Resolution. th Duly adopted this 7 day of October, 2019, by the following vote: AYES : NOES : ABSENT:
