648.91 RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT FOR GIRLS RESOLUTION NO. 648, 1991 INTRODUCED BY: THE ENTIRE TOWN BOARD WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION WHEREAS, the Queensbury High School, located in the Town of Queensbury, has hosted the Public High School State Championship Tournament for Girls since 1983, and WHEREAS, the attendance at the annual tournament which represents the final competition for 16 pubic high schools has averaged an estimated paid attendance of 4,000 per tournament during the past 8 years, and WHEREAS, the location of the tournament at the Queensbury High School offers the participants the use of practice gyms and the convenience of accommodations, restaurants, shopping and entertainment near the school, and WHEREAS, the residents of the Town of Queensbury are pleased to share the atmosphere of hospitality with visitors from across New York State, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby notifies the New York State Basketball Committee, meeting in January 1992, that the Town of Queensbury supports continuation of the Girls Public High School State Championship Tournament at the Queensbury High School, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town of Queensbury shall assist in the preparation of a formal proposal to retain the Public High School State Championship Tournament in the Town of Queensbury. Duly adopted this 2nd day of December, 1991, by the following vote: AYES: Mr. Kurosaka, Mrs. Potenza, Mr. Montesi, Mrs. Monahan, Mr. Borgos NOES: None ABSENT: None
