Plans and Specifications.

Dear Joe:
Regarding the above:
1. The owners have retained the engineer(Edward K. LaPoint, PE)to inspect,evaluate,and provide a
written recommendation on the newly installed pallet racks.
2. Specifically;
1. There are 14 rows 120'long,2 rows 155'long,and 2 rows 92'long. Eighteen-foot tall up-rights,each
9'wide and anchored to the concrete floor.
2. The uprights,cross beams,and decking are rated for 21,100,5,000,and 2,160 pounds respectively.
3. The racks are anchored to the existing concrete floor with 1/2"x 4 1/2"zinc-plated steel anchor
bolts.
1. The seismic design category=B,and the site class=D. The seismic base shear for each
upright is 2,300 pounds on two 1/2"x 4 1/2"steel anchors which is acceptable.
4. The racks have been properly installed in accordance with the manufacture;s plans and
specifications.
5. The racks are acceptable and ready for service.
6. The engineer recommends that each operator be trained in;
1. The proper operation of the loading and unloading equipment used.
2. Meaning of the posted rack load capacity information,inspection,and replacement of any
damaged parts of the racks.
3. Compliance with general site safety requirements.
7. With the initial employee training complete,the racks may be placed in service and used as
intended.
