TOWN OF QUEENSBURY, ALBANY COUNTY, NEW YORK
WHITESTONE PROJECT NO.: EM1916418.000
Dear Mr. O’Brien:
As you are aware, asbestos containing material (ACM) was detected at two locations sampled on the
exterior of the existing building located at the above-referenced address. Specifically, ACM was detected
in samples from the roofing membrane and tar sealant where a door overhang had previous been removed
by others and from the caulk within the expansion joints along the northern (rear), eastern and western sides
of the building. These materials were observed to be in good condition. Whitestone’s client, ALDI, Inc.
(ALDI), does not intend to remove or disturb either of these materials at this time. The site general
contractor currently remodeling the building, National Contractors, Inc., intends to cover the area where
the overhang was removed with a new coat of exterior paint. The expansion joints were covered with a
veneer of thin bricks over metal sheeting without disturbing the caulking. If in the future ALDI elects to
perform remodeling or demolition that might disturb or require the removal of these materials, a licensed
contractor will be retained to abate the areas in accordance with Federal and New York State regulations.
Please contact us with any questions regarding this letter.
Sincerely,
WHITESTONE ASSOCIATES, INC.
