343.2019 Hiring of Peter Bachem Mark Ramsey Part Time Court Officers RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HIRING OF PETER BACHEM AND MARK RAMSEY AS PART-TIME COURT OFFICERS RESOLUTION NO. :343, 2019 INTRODUCED BY: Mrs. Jennifer Switzer WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr. George Ferone WHEREAS, the Queensbury Town Justices have advised that they wish to hire two (2) part- time Town Court Officers on an “as needed” basis at the Town of Queensbury’s Justice Court due to the impending departure of one of their current Court Officers and another Court Officer only to be available for an occasional call-in, and WHEREAS, the Town Justices have recommended that the Town Board hire Peter Bachem and Mark Ramsey, and WHEREAS, the Town Board concurs with such hiring recommendation, and WHEREAS, Town Policy requires that familial relationships must be disclosed and the Town Board must approve the appointment of Town employees’ relatives, and Mark Ramsey is the husband of Simone Ramsey, Senior Typist in the Town’s Parks and Recreation Department, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the hiring of Peter Bachem and Mark Ramsey as part-time Court Officers on an “as needed” basis at the hourly rate of pay of $16.98 as set forth in Resolution No.: 465,2019, subject to Mr. Bachem and Mr. Ramsey passing pre-employment physicals as required by Town Policy and the Town successfully completing background checks as reasonably necessary to judge fitness for the duties for which hired and/or drug and/or alcohol screenings, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes payment in the amount of $27.46 per service fee to Mr. Bachem and/or Mr. Ramsey for service of any paper required by Town Court or any Town of Queensbury Department as also set forth in Resolution No.: 465,2019, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Town Justices, Court Clerks and/or Town Budget Officer to complete any necessary forms and take any actions necessary to effectuate this Resolution. th Duly adopted this 7day of October, 2019, by the following vote: AYES: Mr. Strough, Mr. Metivier, Mr. Ferone, Mrs. Switzer NOES: None ABSENT: Mrs. Atherden
