Whitestone observed the placement of approximately 15 cubic yards of 4,000 psi, air entrained concrete for the retaining wall on the south side of the building. Prior to concrete placement, reinforcing steel was inspected for size, splice length, spacing, and clearance. Results indicate compliance with the details and specifications provided. The concrete was tested for temperature, air and slump with results within project specification. One set of six cylinders was fabricated this day for compressive strength testing. Detailed results of the concrete tests are included in the attached Report of Concrete Placement Inspection. Whitestone observed fill placement around the foundation walls at the front entrance of the building and cart corral stem wall. Fill placed consisted of on-site sand and compactive efforts were applied using a vibratory plate compactor. Six soil density tests were taken in the area. Results obtained from in-place moisture- density testing, performed in accordance with ASTM D6938 standards, indicated adequate soil compaction per project specifications of at least 95 percent of the laboratory maximum dry density, as determined by the Modified Proctor (ASTM D1557) value. Detailed compaction results are on the attached Report of Soil Compaction. At the conclusion of today's services, results were reported to the contractors REPORT OF CONCRETE PLACEMENT INSPECTION Whitestone Associates, Inc. Client: Aldi, Inc.
