Russell Barris Town Superintendant of Highways alaq present. Minutes gf -Regular Meeting held on April 23rd, 1940 read " .w and apprpvod. Mr. Bentley and Mrr. Been, ar committee: appointed at the laet- meeting to interview Mr. Loomis relative to purchasing sufficlo*t ground for a slate gparry, reported that Mr. Loomis at the time of their interview had stated that he` would not sell. Mr. Nobles jetated that subsequent thereto his,had talked with Mr. Loomis and that Mr. Loomis would consider° selling 4 part of the premises under discussion. The following resolution was adopted: , Resolution No, 4E Introduced by Mr. Lampoon seconded-W.'Mr. Bentley . It was r9solved that Mr. Lampoon- Mr. Been and Mr. Noblea be and they.are hereby appointed a committee ' i-tthrea to inspect the premises, on the property formerly owned by VanDusen at Feeder Dam and 4ow owned by the Robertson Estate where it is proposed. that the.Town acquire two acres of land for use as a slate quarry and determine as near as possible the looation of the slate ledge thereon, and to take soundings thereon and aaaertain the depth thereof and ' report at the next regular meetipg ' of the Bobtro.
