1940-06-11 25 REGULAR MEETING JUNE1111940 At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of queensbury, held on the above date at 7:30 P.M. at the Clerk's Offiee.the following menbers were present; Jabez N. Ingalsbe, Supervisor Curtis Lampoon, Councilman Charles Nobles, Justice of peace Meredith Bentley,Justice of Peace Ralph Been, Justice of Peace. Bert D. Turner, Town Clerk. H.Russell Harris Town Superintendent of Highways also present. Minutes of Regular meeting held on May 28th, 1940 wale read and after correction were approved* The privilege of the floor was extented to James Mcphillips who called the Boards attention that atathe time the cleverdale road was constructed it was raised and that the Kirchoff drveway was lower that the road and requested the board to take some action to correct the situation. Mr. Nobles, Justice, offered the following Resolution No.52, seconded by Mr. Lampoon* Councilman: YffiEREAS, There are four election districts in the Town of Queensbury with registration in each district as follows : Ibistrrict No. 1, 433; No. ,?., 615; No. 3, 1131 and No. 4, 870; WHEREAS, The voters in districts 3 and 4 exceed the number perAl.tt the Election Law Provides for re-districting of_ said town, -- RESOLVED, That Election Districts 1 and 2 of said town remain the same, it is further RESOLVED, That the boundaries of Election District No. 3 are as follows: "Beginning at the most southeasterly corner of the Town of Caldwell and running thence northeasterly in & straight line to a point in the center of the Bay Road opposite the southwesterly corner of the- White School House, gust north of jhe Edward Breen farm; thence southwesterly along the- north- northeasterly side of what is known as the "Cross Road" and continuing along Ox Bow Hill Road and past the property of John H. Dineen; thence southerly to a point in the rear of John H. Dineen' s House; thence- northwesterly to a road known as "T" Hill Road; thence southwesterly along "T" Hill Road to the .bay Road; thence southerly along the Bay Road to the road running across the bay Road just northerly of the Warren Potter place; thence easterly along said road to the Ridge Road; thence southerly along the center of the Ridge Road to a point in the center of said road at the intersection of said road with the City of Glens Falls; thence westerly along the boundary line of the City of Glens Falls to a point in the center of the Glens Falls Lake George State Highway Route 9; thence northerly along the center of said highway to the road known as the Aviation Road; thence westerly along the center of said Aviation Road to the Luzerne town line; thence northeasterly along said line between the town of Luzerne and -the town of (4ueens ury southerly line of the town of Caldwell; thence easterly along said town of Caldwell line to the place of beginning. " , it is further 4 RESOLVED, That the boundaries of Election District No. 4 are as follows : "Beginning in the center of the Glens Falls- Lake George Highway known as Rout 9 at the City line and running southwesterly along the city line to the center of what is known as the Luzerne Road; thence in a westerly direction alQag the center of the Luzerne Road to the town of Luzerne line; °thence northerly aloe- the line between the town. af Luzerne and Wueensbury to the center line of the Aviation Field Road so called; thence .w. 26 easterly along the center line of the Aviation Field Road to the center line of the Glens Falls-Lake George Highway No. 9; thence southerly along the center of said Glens Falls-Lake George High- way to the place of beginning." , it is further RESOLVED, That thq boundaries of Election District hot 5 are as follows : "#eginning in the center of what is known as the Luzerne road at the •city lice of the City of Glens Falls and running in a westerly direction along the center of said Luzerne 'load tbrthboLttaerxiCAoun line; thence southerly along the said Luzerne town line to the Hudson River; thence in an -easterly direction along said Hudson River to the City of Glens Falls' westerly line; thence in a northerly direction along the 'said city line to the place of beginning, to be known as District No. 5, and WHEREAS, There are candidates to be elected at the Primary to be held in September, 1940, r RESOLVED, That pursuant to the provisions of the Election Law, that this Act or Resolution shall take effect immediately. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Nobles, Mr. Lampoon and 1dr. Ingalsbe Noes - Mr. Been Mr. Bentley answered present to roll call. + RMELUTION: No.53 Introduced by Mr. -Been, Seconded by 8r. Bentley, It was resolved that Nr. Lampson be and is hereby authorized to order the necessary material for the construction of- a wood railing for election districts Nos. 2,3804 of the Town of *.ueenabury, Further Resolved that he is authorized to order the necessary material for the construction of a table to hold signature book for the voters to sign for all election districts of the Town of 4ueensbury, Further resolved that he is appointed a committee of one to supervise the construction of said railings and tables, Duly adopted by the following vote; . Ayes- Nr. Been, Mr, Nobles, Mr. Lampoon, Mr. Bentley and mr. Ingalsbe. Noes-None On motion Meeting adjourned,
