1940-09-10 37 REGULAR MEETING September 10th, 1940 At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of 4ueensbury, held on the above date at 7:30 P.M. at the Clerk's Office, the following members were present : Jabez Ingallsbe, Supervisor Curtis Lampson, Councilman Charles Nobles, Justice of Peace Meredith Bentley, Justice of Peace Ralph Been, Justice of Peace Bert D. Turner, Town Clerk H. Russell Harris, Town Superintendent of Highways also present. The' privil6ge of the floor was extended to Mr. Charles H. Tuttle, who was present with a commit441 of tax-payers and residence along the Lockhart Road and (}rested that the Town Board take some action to eleminate the hazardous con- ditions on said road. Resolution No, 71, Introduced by Mr. Lampson, seconded by Mr. Nobles. Whereas Town Board has entered into contracts for the pur- chase of water from the Water Commissioners of the City of Glens Falls for the North Glens Falls Water District and the West Glens Falls Water District, and the cost of water to said district is Determined by the said contracts. Resolved that the Supervisor be and is hereby authorized to pair the said contract purchase prices for said water on presentation of property--verified bille for same prior to audit pursuant to section 119 of the Town Law. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes- Mr, Been, Mr. Nobles, Mr, Lampson, Mr. Bentley and' Mr. Ingallsbe Noes- None Resolution No.72, Introduced by fir. Bentley, seconded by fir. Been. Whereas the Town Board of the Town of 4ueensbury has made a statement showing the probable cost of extra-ordinary repairs to Town Road running from 9 L over Lockhart Mountain Road,-and Whereas said Town Board deems said road unsafe and dangerous for travel by reason of being a dirt construct6d road with steep, narrow, and dangerous curves and continueous washouts on the said road ,sufface and steep banks along the edge of the roads -and greatly increased travel over said road and to avoid any serious accident or liability on the part of said Town, said Town Board deem it necessary aW that extra-ordinary repairs be made to said road which is less than two rods wider by rebuilding, grading,resurfacing and draining the same for a distance of 2,5 miles more or less and that the probable cost of improving and repairing said road will be about twenty-five hundred dollars. Resolved that pursuant to the provision of the statute there be and hereby is approptiated and made available for said purpose the sum of 42500, and it is further Resolved that the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to borrow on the faith and credit of said Town, the sum of $2500 and to execute certificate ofindebtedness for said sum payable March let, 1941 with interest at the rate of four percent.- it is futthee Resolved that the Town Clerk shall make a copy of such 3g statement and transmit and present such statement as provided said section 269 of the Highway Law. Duly adopted by the f ollowing vote: Ayes- Mr. Been, Mr. Nobles, Mr, Lampson, Mr. Bentley and Mr. Ingallsbe. Noes- None Resolution No. 7 , Introduced by Mr. Nobles, seconded by MF.- La mpson. It ' was resolved that the committee comprising of Mr. Been and Mr. Bentley appointed by Resolution ##70 adopted Aug. 27th, 1940 be and same is. hereby continued and it is further Resolved that the Town Superintendent of Highways be and is hereby authorized to grade the Town Highway near the property of Rolland Sumner on the Glen Lake Road. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes- Mr, Been, Mr. Nobles, Mir. Lampson, Mr. Bentley and Mr. Ingallsbe. Noes- None The f ollowing Claim was edddl ted by the Town Board i70 260 Mountainside Grange Cleaning Cemeteries 450.00 REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 24th,1940 At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury held on the above- date at 7:30• P.M. at the' Clerk's office, the following menbers were present; Jabez N. Ingalsbe, Supervisor Curtis Lampson, Councilman Charles Nobles Justice of Peace Meredith Bentley, Justice of Peace Ralph Been Justice of Peace Bert D. Turner Town Clerk H. Russell Harris Town Superintendent of Highways also present. Minutes of Meetingsheld on Augnstb;87th,1940 and September 10th were read and approved. The prevelege of the floor was extented to kr. E.H.Frierhofer who requested that the assembly point be widened and repaired. A communication from A.W. Keech in reference to purchasing top soil from the Town quarry was read to the board by`'the Clerk/ RESOLUTION #74 Introduced by Mr. Been, Seconded by `Mr. Bentley It was resolved that the Town superintendent of Highways be and is hereby authorized to sell Top soil or excess material on the quarry lot at a price of not less than$.50 per load. Duly adopted by the following vote. Ayes- Mr, Been, Mr, Nobles, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Bentley and Mr, Ingalsbe. Noes-None. Mr. Rolland Sumner aupcoeared with his attorney S. Leonbruno in reference to damages to Mr. Sumner' s property on the Glen Lake road.
