The prevelege of the floor was extented to Mr. E.H.Fri6rhofer who requested that the assembly point be widened and repaired. A communication from A.W. Keech in reference to purchasing top soil from the Town quarry was read to the board by"the Clerk/ RESOLUTION #74 Introduced by Mr. Been, Seconded by `Mr. Bentley �-�• It was resolved that the Town superintendent of Highways be and is hereby authorized to sell Top soil or excess material on the quarry lot at a price of not less than$.50 per load. Wal, ace and Mr Lawton called on the Board in reference to .the dangerous condition existing along route 9 North of the City of, Glens Falls due t_o heavy traffic and many pubkiness ,placesapd branch roads and requested that a traffic zone be ,established. A&SOLUT,1 ON No. 76 Introduced by Mr. Bentley, Se-conded by Mr. Atoblee., _ WHEREAS a dangerous traffic conditions exists for a distance of approximately 21/4 miles northerly on route 9 from the City pf 'Glens Falls for the reason that there are numerous private and public roads leading to numerous business places along said zaNd highway and traffic is continually leaving crossing and entering said business' s places and public. Roads from said Highway #9 and, Whereas through traffic on said route #9 travels at a high and dangerous rate of speed, and Whereas as a result of said leaving, crossing and entering said highway and the high rate of speed has caused many serious and fatal accidents within the aforementioned distance on said highway No. 9 and it is the opinion of this board that public necessity and safety demand that a traffic zone be established for skid distance along said Route 9 fixing the rate of speed for said zone not in excess of 30 miles per hour. Resolved that the supervisor be and hereby is authorized and directed to make application to the Traffic Controll commission of the State of ew York to establish a traffic zone for a distance of 2-1/4 miles north of the City of Glens Falls to fix 8h rate of speed for said zone at not in excess of 30 miles per hour.
