1941-12-26 1.0 I Regular Meeting December ettfi,1941 At the regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of 4ueensbury, held on the above date at the Clerk' s office, the following menbers were present; Jabez N. Ingalsbe, Supervisor Curtis Lampson Councilman Charles Nobles Justice of Peace Meredith Bentley Justice of Peace Ralph been Justice of Peace ` The, -:regular meeting of December 23rd,1941 was put over to this ;time and place due to slippery driving conditions. Minutes of meeting held on the 9th day of December,1941 were read and approved. . Resolution #66 Introduced by Mr. Nobles, Seconded by Yr.Lampson. WHEREAS George A. Chapman and Lucy Chapman have by Warranty deed dated December 22ndl941 conveyed to the Town of 4uea sbury land therein described to increase the width of the public road running south from the 4uaker Hill- ,Road to the Dixon Road to the approximately width of the quaker Hill Road. Therefore be it resolved that the land described in said deed i be and the same hereby is accepted f vv highway purposes. Duly adopted by the following vote; Ayes- Mr. Been, Mr. Nobles, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Bentley and Mr. i Ingalsbe. . a Noes : None. An application was received and read by the clerk to the Board from Thresa Dimick for appointment to dog enumerator. in 'L1161 RESOLUTION No 68 Introduced by Mr. Ingalsbe, Seconded by Mr. Lampson It was resolved b�iat Theresa J�imick be and is hereby appointed dog enumerator forthe Town of 4ueensbury for the year of 1942. Duly adopted by the following vote : , Ayes : Mr. Been, Mr. Nobles, Mr, Lampson, Mr. Bentley and Mr. Ingalsbe. Noes None. Resolution No. 69 Introduced by Mr. Been, Seconded by Mr. Bentle3r. WHEREAS by resolution ##58 adopted Novs •12th,1941 the supervisor was authorized to purchase one underwood Sundstrand adding_andtifigurIng machine at a price of One hundred Ninety Eight Dollars and Forty-Five cents and WHEREAS it would appear from the voucher submitted that the Town of Ciueensbury ,is charged Stith ,the Federal Sales Tax on said Machine and that such tax should not be charged against said Town. Therefore be it resolved that said resolution #f58 adopted November lzth, 1941 for the purchase of said. eaddl e Machine be and the same is hereby rescinded. Duly lost by the following vote : Ayes Mr. Been, and Mr. Bentley Noes : Mr. Ingalsbe. On the roll call for the vote on the above resolution Mr. Nobles and Mr. Lampson answered prea t. Mr Bentley a committee 0 the claim of the New York Power and' Light Corporation reported that the had gone over all the claims of the said Corporation and fund that claim No 70 and 180 of said corporation had not been paid and that the Town owed said Corporation two back payments. Resolution No, 70 Introduced by Mr. Lentley , saconded by � Mr. Been. . � It was Resolved that the clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to write a letter to. the New York Power and Light Corporation requesting them to submit new vouchers properly verified, for the months. of February and July, 1941 for street lighting in the Town of 1ueensbury. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes : Mr. Been, Mr, Nobles, Mr. Lampson Mr. Bentley and Mr. Ingalsbe. Noes : None. An application from Donald Lockhart for appointment as Constable was read to the board by the Ulerk. 10 5 An .opinion from the County Attorney in reference to titles and conveyances from the City of Glens Falls and Charles V, keters to the Town of Queensbury was read to the Board by the Clerk and placed on file.
