1942-01-06 ORG 107 f Organization Meeting January 1942 At the `ttganization Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of I 4ueeasbury held on the above date at 7:30 P. M. at the Clerk' s Office, the following members were present: k D. Elmer Fowler, Supervisor Curtis Lampoon, Councilman Raymond Walkup, Councilman Charles Nobles, Justice of Peace Henry Sleight, Justice of Peace H. R eaeSl 'Harris, Town Superintendent of highways also present. �- In the matter of naming depository for the moneys of the Town of Queensbury the following resolution was introduced : Resolution 'No. 1. , Introduced by Justice Nobles,, Seconded by Councilman Lampoon. It was resolved that the Glens Falls national Bank and Trust Co. I; be and is hereby designated as depository for all funds and moneys of the Town of Queensbury. Duly, -adDpted by the following vote: Ayes- Mr, Walkup, Mr. Nobles, Mr. Lampoon, Mr. Sleight and Mr. Fouler Noes- None Resolution No. 2, Introduced by Justice Sleight, Seconded by Councilman Walkup. It was resolved that the Glens Falls Times be and hereby is designated as official newspaper for the flown of Queensbury � for the purpose of publishing legal notices. Duly adopted by the following vote: i Ayes- Mr. Walkup, Mr. Nobles , Mr. Lampoon, Mr. Sleight and j Mr. Fowler. Noes- None' . Resolution No. a.., Introduced by Councilman Walkup, Seconded by j Justice Sleight. It was resolved that regular meetings of the Town -Board of the Town of 4ueenobury shall be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month he+eafter at 7:30 P. M. at the Clerk's Office. It was resolved that a,11. Town Officials in use of their Automobil6t'! j on official business shall be allowed 6 cents per mile for each mile necessarily traveled in performance of said officer' s duties. Noes- None r v • Yro bn 108, In the matter of naming Constables$ applications, were received and read by the Clerk from Charles BS&:ldwin, Lester B. Brownell, Ernest B, Lackey, Donald locktiart, and John Lennox, and the following resolutions were introduced : Resolution No. 5, Introducedby Justice Nobles, Seconded by Justice Sleight. It was resolved that there shall be appointed four Constables for the Town of 4ueensbury to serve at the pleasure of the Board or until such a time as successors are appointed notwithstanding any previous resolution heretofore adopted. Duly adopted by the following vote : Ayes- Mr. Walkup, Mr. Nobles, Mr, Lampson , Tyr. Sleight and Mr. Fowler. Noes- None The Board took an informan ballot in naming the constables and John Lennox, Charles Baldwin, Donald Lockhart and Ernest Lackey received the majority of votes of the Board, and so the following resolution was introduced : Resolution No. 6, Introduced by Councilman Walkup, Seconded by Justice Nobles. It was resolved that John Lennox, Charles Baldwin, Donald Lockhart, and Ernest _Lackey be and they are hereby appointed Constables for the Town of aueensbury to serve at the pleasure of the Board, Duly adopted by the following vote : Ayes- Mr. Walkup, Mr. Nobles, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Sleight and Mr, Fowler. Noes- None The Clerk read an application from Mrs. Anna McCaghey requesting reappointment to the position of Welfare Officer. No aother applications were received and the following resolution was introduced : Resolution No, 7, Introduced by Justice Nobles, Seconded by Councilman Lampson. It was resolved that Anna ,McCaghey be and is hereby appointed Town Welfare Officer for the Town of �ueenabury until a successor is appointed by this or .a succeeding Board or to serve at the pleasure of this Board at a. salary of $30 per month during said term. Further resolved that the said Welfare Officer be and is hereby authorized to have 'installed a telephone which shall be a Town Charge. Further resolved that the said Vielfare Officer be and is hereby allo-we"d for expenses fore use of automobile .06 cents per mile for each mile actually and necessarily used in the performance of then d:uti.es Further resolved that the B=da of said Welfare Officer be and the same is hereby fixed at trie amount of �'500.
