1942-06-13 SP 124 Special Meeting June 1,;, 1942 At a Special meeting of the Town Board of the Town of 4x4eensbury hold on- the above date 7:30 P.Y, at the Clerk' s office the following menbers were present D. Elmer Fowler Supervisor Charles Nobles Justice of Peace Henry Sleight Justice of Peace Curtis Lampoon Councilman Raymond Walkup Councilman a M1 j 1 Mr Shear of the D. Winkleman Company 4was present and requested the Board to rent the grader to the D.W. Winkleman Company for use on the Airport Construction, Mr Shear also requested permission of the Board to ' coritruct undreground electrical cable line with manholes along the side of and across the county Line road, The supervisor handed the clerk the following communication from the Town Superintendent of highways and requested the clerk to° read the same to the Board. The Clerk rea4t the following To the Town Beard of Qbeenabury I am dnclosing the book of rates set by the Federal Government f on rental of Machinery, We purchased this grader to be a heavy duty machine and our specifications called for at least 20,000 lbs,, se h believe that if it rents, it should go in the heavy duty class, we have plenty of work for the grader to do in the Town but the most 'of it could be held over until a later date if you see fit to rent the grader. The financial end must be considered S am sure, and I cannot say which would benefit the Town most, to rent the- grader and increase our finances or to keep it at work for the Town and improve the ' roads as the we intended when, ,,the grader was purchasdd. The privelegs of the floor was extended to Mr. Qwen Kane who requeMted the lean of the Town grader for the purpose of grading and scrapping a race tract. The board intsmMed him that the grader could not be loaned for that and referred the matter to the Town Superintendent of Highways, Applications were received as follows for cleating cemeteries; Mountainside Grange- Scotch cemetery- Bay Road Glens Falls Grange Sunnyside Cemetery. Further resolved that brush and weeds and grass be removed at least three times a year by the Maid Mountainside Grange.
