Russell Harris , Town Superintendent of Highways, also -- �resent. inutes of meeting held June 23rd were read and approved. fhe privelege of the floor was extended to S.H.Fogg who spoke briefly in reference to salavageing irons , fate and rubber to be used for the war effort and request . that a committee be named to aid in the salavaging of the ocrap. The supervisor hamea the menbers of the Town Board as a Comm� e o aid in the salavaging of scrap and advised Mr. F�Sggfm ers of the Board would co-operate in every respect. The privelege of the floor was' extended to Mr. Elmer Riley who requests =: ermission be given to a hunting Club to- clean the Cemetery and repair damage to fonce and grade or that the highway department do the work. Mr Riley stated that he didn't know wherther or not the' Hunting"-club wanted to do the work but thought they might. i Mr Riley was instructed to ascertain from the Hunting Club whothkr or not they desired to clean the cemetery and. -to submit their application. . t . . The clerk read the following communication: Menbers of the Board Town of uueenebury Glens Falls, b1.�t r July 28th, 1942 Geiatlemen: It -is my understanding that you have a mowing machine- that was formerly used to cut grass; and weeds from the shoulders 129- of the roads, that is now obsolete an no longer used, If- thin mowing machine ie in working condition, Z would like to make an offer for it. This, of course, with the undevstanding that the Town -has no further use for this mowing machine and is not holding it in reserve for any fsttfte work or parts that may be used on your present equipment. -Any consideration given to his matter will be appreciated by me. The supervisor asked the Town Superintndent of Highways it `the above equipment was needed by the Town, The Town Superintendent otpted that the equipment was needed by the Town. ` No further action taken' in reference to the above. The -clerk read and application from the Mohican Jesters Club of the Mohican Grange to clean the Mt. Herman Cemetery. Resolution # 38 Introduced by Justice Nobles, seconded by Couniftman•Lampson. It was resolved that Mohican Jesters be and are hereby authorized to remove grass, weeds, brush and care for and conserve the Mount Herman Cemetery, Luzerxk*eRoad. ° Further resolved that brush and weeds and grass be removed at least three times a year. Further resolved that the sum of Fifty Dollars be and is hereby apprepiated for said cemetery. ' Further resolved that the work be completed Oct. let 1942. The application were read to the board by the Clerk. The board took an informal ballot of which all ballots were cast., in favor of Millard F. Corse i The following resolution was adopted. Resolution No. 39 Introduced by Justice Nobles Seoonded by Justice Sleight. It was resolved that Millard Coons be and is hereby appointed Town attendance officer for the Schools of the Town of (�ueensbury outside of district ##2 for the School -year of 1942,_ind 1943 at an annual salary of $200, payable as foll is;#20.00 per month for ten months on the presentation of prgperly verified bills for same presented to the supervisor.. Further resolved that said appointment is subject to the 130 approval of the district superintendent of schools. Duly. adopted by the following vote : Ayes. Mr. Walkup. Resoltuion No. 41 Introduced by Justice Sleight, seconded by Councilman Lampoon Whereas the Town Board of the Town of 4ueensbury did on the 26th day of May 1842 authorize the Town Superintendent to lease to D. W. Winkleman Construction Company the 9 ton ' roller of the Town of 4ueensbury at a rate fixed by 'the Government for that type of equipment and, Whereas the said D.W.Winkleman Construction Comapny have failed and neglected to pay for the rental of said roller for the past two months. Resolved that the Supar lLpen&eAtad9n1igh%kys be and is hereby authorized and directed to terminate the lease of said equipment to the said D.W. Winkleman Construction Company unless the rental for said equipment is paid to the Town of 4ueensbury three days from the date of this Board meeting and the superintendent be and is hereby further authorized to� move said equipment unless payment for said rental is made as aforesaid.
