Turner Tovm Clerk Regular Meeting December 22nd,1945 At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury, held on the above date at 7 :30 P.M. at the clerk' s office , the following members were present; D.Elmer Fowler, Supervisor , Henry Sleight, Justice of the Peace Meredith 'S Bentley Justcce of the Peace Curtis Lampson, Councilman Raymond Walkup Councilman H.Russell Harris, Town Superintendent of Highways also present. Minutes of meeting held on the 24th day of December read and approved. kr Wallace, Supt of the North Glens Falls 'Hater District called on the Board in reference to buried shutoffs of water consumers in the Water District. The Board Generally discussed the matter and no action taken, Pair Oudekirk called on the Board in reference to drainage along the meadow Brook Road. The Board generally discussed the matter with him. Mr Harris stated, thtt County surveyor had made a survey to showw the fall of the grouddto the half way brook. No action taken. j The Novembe,r Statement of the Supervisor of the moneys received and disbursed by him was read by the clerk and placed on file. The Board approved the Bonds of the following and end executed their approval o$ said, Bonds; Ernest Lackey, Town Superintendent of - Highways , Arthur Hills, Collector* Bert D. Turner, Town Clerk a .d Henry Sleight, Justice of the Peace. An application was read to the Board submitted by Joseph Ricketts requesting appointment as dog enumerator. Resolution No 41 ; Introduce by Councilman Lampson, Seconded by Justice Sleight . It was resolved that Jospeh S Ricketts be and is hereby appointed dog enumerator for the year 1946. Duly adopted by the following vote : Ayes : Mr Walkup, Mr. Bentley, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Sleight and Mr. Fowler. 284 ' Noes : None. Resolution No 43 Introduced by Justice Bentley, Secondeed -by Councilman Lampson UER+EAS the Glens Falls Fire Department has on numerous occassions answered fire calls in the Town of Queensburyy and recentley a serious fire on Bav Rd in the Town of Queensbury which threatened to destroy adjoining Buildings in the settlement and whose efforts prevented a further serious loss of property in the vicinity of said -fire. Thereofre be it resolved that the sum of One Hundred Dollars be and is- herebt appropiated from the contingent fund as a contribution to the Pension Fund of the Glens Falls Firemen and be it- further resolved that the supervisor be and is hereby authorized and directed to pay said sum to the said Pension fund of the said Glens Falls Firemen prior to audit. Duly adopted by the following vote Aves ; Mr Nalkup, Mr. Bentley, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Sleight and Mr. Fowler Noes: None. f Resolution No . 44 Introduced by Justice Sleight , Seconded by Justice Bentley Whereas there is in the surplus fund the sum of $4870.77 which is not set aside for a specific purpose. Therf ore be it resolved that said sum of $4870.77 be and is hereby set aside for thepurpose of building a Town hall and office build ing.
