to allow payment of certain bills ahead of the regular Town Board audit in order to ensure the continuance of insurance coverages, avoidance of late charges and timely delivery of certain shipments and mailings, and WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to authorize payment in advance of audit of claims for public utility services, health, dental, workers’ compensation, disability and unemployment insurance premiums, debt service payments, postage, freight and express charges, and WHEREAS, Town Law §64(23) and §118 allow for such payments, and WHEREAS all such claims shall be presented at the next regular meeting for audit, and WHEREAS the claimant and officer incurring or approving such payments shall be jointly and severally liable for any amount disallowed by the Town Board, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes the payment in advance of audit of claims during 2020 for such premiums for policies that would otherwise lapse before compensation and duties of the two (2) positions will be merged, and authorizes and directs that Ms. Watkins shall be paid a stipend in such amount as will be set forth in the Town’s adopted 2020 It was a lot of work, but it was pleasurable. I think we got a lot accomplished in the last two years. Looking forward to the next two years. I think the Board has really worked well. I think we have worked respectively and collaboratively. Things that I was looking for when I came on the Board. I think that with the new member joining I think that it is going to be good for us to get some different perspective. Looking forward to having another good two years and accomplishing as much as we did in the last two years. COUNCILMAN METIVIER (WARD I)  I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I want to thank everyone for coming. SUPERVISOR STROUGH  I just want to say I see a lot of Department Heads here. I see the Queensbury Seniors here. I see some members of the public. I see Ed Bartholomew here. He is the EDC Czar of the region. So many of you are here because you want to give us a good send off for the next two years. We appreciate you being here. Thank you we won’t let you down. This has been a Town Board that works together well. We may not agree on everything, but we are upfront about that. We are not backstabbing about that. We will talk things out. We will make adjustments in accord with what is best for this community. That is what this Board and the other two are not here, but I can speak for them as well. That is what this Board is here to do. Their dedication isn’t to their politics. It isn’t to their own personal preferences. It is to do what is best for the community. We have a well-run Town. Again that is because many of the people who are present at this meeting today. Our Legal Firm. Our Highway Department. Our Planning and Zoning. Our Assessment Officer, Teri Ross. She is noted throughout New York State for her abilities in assessment.
