Building shall arrange for live staffing(automated answering system is prohibited) to respond to call for help from the elevator car.If the call is not acknowledged within 45 s,the call shall be automatically directed to an alternate on-or off-site location. 3. Where the elevator rise is 18 m(60 ft)or more,an additional telephone/phone line shall be provided within the building at a location accessible by emergency personnel. This phone line shall support equipment that is capable of two-way analog communications with each elevator car(via each car's Inspection and Test Panel)individually and overriding communications between the elevator car and locations outside of the building. By Date Time NOTES to BUILDING/ ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR: 1) Backup Generator (if required, is to be sized &installed by Building) to provide both 3-ph power for Elevator System as well as 120V Car Lighting circuit. Note that Elevator system represents a nonlinear load (4<K<9) of up to 16KVA(<1.5sec) to the Generator, depending upon application;consult Generator manufacturer for appropriate sizing criteria. 2) Phase-Phase voltage drop on feeders between Utility entry(or Generator if installed)and Elevator Main Disconnect (JH), including Adaptive Transformer if present, shall not to exceed 3%at rated value of fuse in JH. 3) Disconnect for Adaptive Transformer shown in diagram as fused, but may instead be circuit breaker; must meet NFPA70 450.3 and 450.14. 4) The type of Adaptive Transformer shall be an AutoTransformer("AutoXfmr")w/three integral Class J fuses on the secondary, available from Schindler, when ALL of the following conditions are met: a) The Elevator System Power is not the same voltage as the Building voltage,AND b) the voltage between each of three Building and Generator phases and earth ground are equal, AND c) the source impedance between any two phases are equal (no Open Delta). 208V output: 70A; 480V output: 30A 5) The type of Adaptive Transformer shall be a Delta-Wye Transformer(to be sized/acquired by Building)for ANY of following conditions: a) The Building/Generator voltages are same as Elevator System voltages BUT the available fault current from the Building or Generator supply at the JH Disconnect is greater than 5KA; OR b) The voltage between each of three Building/Generator phases and earth ground are not equal (i.e.-Delta Hi- Leg or Wild Leg, also Corner-Grounded Delta or ungrounded Delta or Wye);OR c) 3-phase power to building is supplied by two (and not 3) transformer coils(i.e.- Open Delta). Delta-Wye Transformer nominal output voltage shall be 208V 3Ph if building voltage is 240V or less, and 480V if building voltage is 440V or higher.Typically, a 15KVA transformer rated for use with nonlinear loads (4<K<9) and having an output impedance of 0.8%-2% (208V out) or 0.4%-0.9% (480V out)is acceptable in order to maintain fault currents to more than 2KA and less than 5KA. Common of wye on output to be grounded and bonded as required by NFPA70 Article 250 and/or per local applicable codes. Schindler elevator control equipment does not utilize or require a neutral conductor, all loads are phase-phase. 6) Phase-Phase voltage drop on branch circuit conductors between output of JH Disconnect and Fuse Box(or TSU if Fuse Box not present) shall not exceed 2%at rated value of fuse in JH. 7) JH Disconnect MUST be fused type as shown; both JH and JH1 must be 3-pole w/o Neutral (3-wire)and meet NEC 620.51. Required permanently-mounted locking mechanism not shown.Voltage and Current ratings for JH and JH1 shall be identical. See Power Data for sizing criteria.JH and JH1 must include Aux Disconnect contact rated for use with 24Vdc at up to 2A. Note that for installations requiring a Shunt Trip feature to support activation of Hoistway Sprinklers, the shunt trip mechanism may be installed within JH,or on the shunt trip mechanism preceding the JH Disconnect. 8) JHL Disconnect is recommended to be fused using a 15A time delay branch circuit fuse;it must meet 620.53.A 15A Breaker may instead be used only if current-limiting type(trip under short circuit within 0.016 second). Disconnect and overcurrent protection for additional required circuits shown here is to be co-located with JH and JHL. These circuits include/may include:Top of Hoistway lighting/receptacle (always); Hoistway Pit lighting/receptacle (always), Pit Sump Pump (if required), Seismic Detector(if required), Flood detector(if required), Control space lighting/receptacle (always), and other elevator related equipment; (see NFPA70 620.23- .25 and 620.53- .55) Required permanently-mounted locking mechanisms for each disconnect not shown in diagram. For a given location, applicable codes in effect may permit receptacle to be on same circuit as nearby lighting;consult NFPA70 Article 620 and local codes as needed. 9) Path also requires routing of 2-conductor 600V 18AWG(typ TFFN)wiring to interconnect series-wired aux contacts of JH and JH1 to Fuse Box(or if Fuse Box not present, to TSU). Additional length of conductors to be coiled up at Fuse Box(or TSU if Fuse Box not present)for routing by Schindler to destination in LDU. IF shunt trip feature to support activation of hoistway sprinklers is required AND the shunt trip is NOT installed within the JH Disconnect, then an additional pair of TFFN or similar conductors shall be run between the aux contact of the Shunt Trip and the aux contact in the JH Disconnect. Shunt Trip>>JH Disconnect>>JH1 Disconnect»Fuse Box(or TSU if Fuse Box not present) 10) Fuse Box typically represents destination for power distribution to the Schindler 3300 elevator control system with AutoEvac option. HEATING AND COOLING The ambient temperature at the Test&Inspection Panel(LDU)at the elevator door jamb REQUIREMENTS on the_4_floor must be maintained between 32 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit 0 to 40 Celsius);the ambient temperature at the top of Hoistway(Machine space)must be maintained between 41 and 104 degF(5 to 40 Celsius).Local Codes may require stricter temperature requirements. • Heating and/or cooling may be required to maintain the required temperatures. • Acceptable humidity level shall be maintained at 95%or less non-condensing. For sizing any required heating and/or cooling equipment: 1. The heat emission for the Inspection&Test Panel(LDU)is_600_BTU/Hour with normal load cycle conditions. 2. The heat emission for the hoistway equipment is_908_BTU/Hour with normal load cycle conditions. 3. The heat emission for the motor control XFMR due to this elevator is— N/A-BTU/Hour with normal load cycle conditions.Additional heat loads may contribute to the total in a common space. COMMUNICATIONS 1. An analog telephone line, one per elevator group, shall be provided by the building. REQUIREMENTS Line shall be capable of receiving incoming and making outgoing calls.Telephone line shall originate at the Inspection and Test Panel designated by Schindler and terminate at the building phone system. 2. By Date Time NOTES to BUILDING / ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR: 1) Backup Generator (if required, is to be sized & installed by Building)to provide both 3-ph power for Elevator System as well as 120V Car Lighting circuit. Note that Elevator system represents a nonlinear load (4<K<9)of up to 16KVA(<1.5sec)to the Generator, depending upon application;consult Generator manufacturer for appropriate sizing criteria. 2) Phase-Phase voltage drop on feeders between Utility entry(or Generator if installed)and Elevator Main Disconnect(JH), including Adaptive Transformer if present, shall not to exceed 3%at rated value of fuse in JH. 3) Disconnect for Adaptive Transformer shown in diagram as fused, but may instead be circuit breaker; must meet NFPA70 450.3 and 450.14. 4) The type of Adaptive Transformer shall be an AutoTransformer("AutoXfmr")w/three integral Class J fuses on the secondary*, available from Schindler, when ALL of the following conditions are met: a) The Elevator System Power is not the same voltage as the Building voltage, AND b) the voltage between each of three Building and Generator phases and earth ground are equal, AND c) the source impedance between any two phases are equal (no Open Delta). *208V output: 70A; 480V output: 30A 5) The type of Adaptive Transformer shall be a Delta-Wye Transformer(to be sized/acquired by Building)for ANY of following conditions: a) The Building/Generator voltages are same as Elevator System voltages BUT the available fault current from the Building or Generator supply at the JH Disconnect is greater than 5KA; OR b) The voltage between each of three Building/Generator phases and earth ground are not equal (i.e.-Delta Hi- Leg or Wild Leg,also Corner-Grounded Delta or ungrounded Delta or Wye);OR c) 3-phase power to building is supplied by two (and not 3) transformer coils (Le,Open Delta). Delta-Wye Transformer nominal output voltage shall be 208V 3Ph if building voltage is 240V or less, and 480V if building voltage is 440V or higher.Typically, a 15KVA transformer rated for use with nonlinear loads (4<K<9) and having an output impedance of 0.8%-2% (208V out) or 0.4%-0.9% (480V out) is acceptable in order to maintain fault currents to more than 2KA and less than 5KA. 8) JHL Disconnect is recommended to be fused using a 15A time delay branch circuit fuse;it must meet 620.53.A 15A Breaker may instead be used only if current-limiting type (trip under short circuit within 0.016 second). Disconnect and overcurrent protection for additional required circuits shown here is to be co-located with JH and JHL. These circuits include/may include:Top of Hoistway lighting/receptacle (always); Hoistway Pit lighting/receptacle(always), Pit Sump Pump(if required), Seismic Detector(if required), Flood detector(if required), Control space lighting/receptacle (always),and other elevator related equipment; (see NFPA70 620.23- .25 and 620.53 - .55) Required permanently-mounted locking mechanisms for each disconnect not shown in diagram. For a given location, applicable codes in effect may permit receptacle to be on same circuit as nearby lighting;consult NFPA70 Article 620 and local codes as needed. 9) Path also requires routing of 2-conductor 600V 18AWG (typ TFFN)wiring to interconnect series-wired aux contacts of JH and JH1 to Fuse Box(or if Fuse Box not present, to TSU). If Fuse Box is not present at top of hoistway(i.e.-control system without AutoEvac option), destination instead becomes Transfer Switch Unit(TSU).
