Attention:Sam Thompson
Dear Mr.Thompson:
To follow up on our conversation earlier today,|reviewed the photos provided showing the construction
of the small retaining wall and concrete piers at the Zappone Residence.Based on our conversation and
my review of the photos provide |believe the as-built conditions are adequate to support the code
required loads.|understand that the retaining walls will only be retaining approximately 3'-0"of soil and
were constructed similar to the typical frost wall with the same reinforcement and footing. This
construction is adequate to resist the lateral earth pressures for the retaining wall
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,

Attention:Sam Thompson
Regarding:Zappone Residence
Queensbury,NY
Dear Mr.Thompson:
To follow up on our conversation earlier today, the 4-foot tll frost walls at the Zappone Residence may be
poured as a single pour,20-inch wide wall. This would eliminate the need for the separate pour at the
footing. The bottom of the 20-inch wall should have a minimum of 4’-0"frost protection to the adjacent
grade and the wall should be reinforced as specified on the drawings.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Scot Burlingame,PLE.|900 Rt.146,Clifton Park,NY 12065 |T:518-724-0733 |scott@sbengineeringplle.com
