502.2008 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HIRING OF CHARLES DYER AS TEMPORARY ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER RESOLUTION NO. :502, 2008 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Tim Brewer MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY : Mr. Anthony Metivier WHEREAS, Charles Dyer was first hired as a Code Enforcement Officer in the Town of th Queensbury’s Department of Building and Codes on February 7, 2005, and WHEREAS, by Resolution No.: 479,2008, the Queensbury Town Board authorized the hiring of Charles Dyer as a temporary Laborer to work for the Town’s Building and Grounds Department, and WHEREAS, the Town’s full-time Animal Control Officer is currently out of work, and WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to transfer Charles Dyer from his temporary Laborer position to the Animal Control Officer position on a temporary basis or until such time that the Town’s full-time Animal Control Officer returns to work or until Mr. Dyer is reappointed to the position of Code Enforcement Officer, and WHEREAS, discussions were had with CSEA who agreed to this temporary assignment with the understanding that the position is and remains a bargaining unit position and that dues must be paid by Charles Dyer for the time that he holds the position, and WHEREAS, the Town acknowledges that no permanent reassignment shall take place absent posting consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the hiring of th Charles Dyer as the Town’s Animal Control Officer on a temporary basis effective October 27, 2008 until such time that the full-time Animal Control Officer returns to work or until Mr. Dyer is reappointed to the position of Code Enforcement Officer, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that Mr. Dyer shall be paid at the rate of $18.4765 hourly, to be paid from the appropriate payroll account, and Mr. Dyer shall also pay Union dues during such time of his appointment, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, employee benefits shall continue for Mr. Dyer without break in service or loss of seniority, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor and/or Town Budget Officer to complete any forms and take any action necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. th Duly adopted this 27 day of October, 2008, by the following vote: AYES : Mr. Metivier, Mr. Strough, Mr. Brewer, Mr. Stec NOES : None ABSENT: Mr. Montesi
