RESOLUTION APPROVING WEST GLENS FALLS VOLUNTEER FIRE
COMPANY, INC.’S BUDGET FOR THE RE-ROOFING OF FIRE STATION
AND AMENDMENT TO FIRE SERVICES AGREEMENT AND BUDGET

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury and the West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.
(Fire Company) have entered into an Agreement for fire protection services, which Agreement sets
forth a number of terms and conditions including a condition that the Fire Company will not purchase
or enter into any binding contract to purchase any piece of apparatus, equipment, vehicles, real
property, or make any improvements that would require the Fire Company to acquire a loan or
mortgage or use money placed in a “vehicles fund” without prior approval of the Queensbury Town
Board, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 312,2003, the Town Board authorized the Fire Company to
engage the services of Monahan & Loughlin to re-roof the West Glens Falls Fire Station for an amount
not to exceed $85,777 with the understanding that the Fire Company would incur a 60 month
installment debt for the project, and
WHEREAS, it was the Town Board’s intention at that time to not only approve the re-roofing
project but also approve an increase in the Fire Company’s budget in the amount of $85,777 by
increasing the Fire Company’s operating budgets for each ofthe years 2004-2008 by an additional
$20,184 per year for debt service and correspondingly amend the Fire Company’s agreement with the
Town, and

WHEREAS, on May 3, 2004, the Town Board held a public hearing concerning the Fire
Company’s re-roofing project, amendment to its 2004 budget and corresponding amendment to its Fire
Protection Agreement and heard all interested persons, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that it is necessary and in the public interest to
act on such proposal to facilitate continued provision of necessary fire protection services to the Town,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves of the West Glens Falls
Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.’s re-roofing project in the amount of $85,777 and approves an increase
in the Fire Company’s operating budget for the year 2004 (the sole year of such Contract) by an
additional $20,184 for debt service and correspondingly authorizes an amendment to the Fire
Company’s Agreement with the Town, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to sign
any necessary documentation, including an amended Agreement between the Town and the Fire
Company in form approved by Town Counsel, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town
Budget Officer to take all action necessary to transfer funds and amend the 2004 Town Budget as
necessary, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor and/or
Budget Officer to take any action necessary to effectuate all terms of this Resolution.
