RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROMOTION OF TOM MATTESON
FROM WATER MAINTENANCE MAN TO WATER MAINTENANCE
FOREMAN AT TOWN WATER TREATMENT PLANT

WHEREAS, David Sommer recently resigned from the Civil Service competitive position of
Water Maintenance Foreman at the Town Water Treatment Plant, and
WHEREAS, no Civil Service list currently exists for this position, and
WHEREAS, the Water Superintendent has advised that Tom Matteson, Water Maintenance
Man, has passed the departmental examination for the Water Maintenance Foreman position and has
the required job experience, and therefore the Water Superintendent has recommended the promotion
of Tom Matteson from Water Maintenance Man to Water Maintenance Foreman on a provisional basis
until such time as Mr. Matteson meets all Civil Service requirements for the position, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to authorize the requested promotion,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the promotion
of Tom Matteson from Water Maintenance Man to the Civil Service competitive position of Water
Maintenance Foreman on a provisional basis until such time as Mr. Matteson meets all Civil Service
requirements for the position, and
BE IT FURTHER,

RESOLVED, that Mr. Matteson’s promotion shall be effective June 8, 2004 and Mr.
Matteson shall be paid at the rate of pay specified in the Town’s CSEA Union Agreement for the
Water Maintenance Foreman position for the year 2004, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Water
Superintendent and/or Budget Officer to complete any forms and take any action necessary to
effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
