RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ADOPTION OF
POLICY FOR REVIEW OF REZONING APPLICATIONS

WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION

WHEREAS, the Executive Director of Community Development has recommended Town
Board adoption of a policy regarding processing of rezoning applications in order to establish a
schedule for consideration of such rezoning applications, provide for more thorough analysis of such
applications and provide for better management of the Planning Department’s workload, and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director has drafted a proposed policy entitled, “Policy for the
Review and Processing of Applications for Requests for Rezoning,” and a copy of the proposed Policy
has been presented at this meeting, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has considered and wishes to adopt the proposed Policy as the
Policy will provide for better management of rezoning requests submitted to the Town by providing a
fixed timeframe for the processing and review of rezoning applications,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby adopts the “Policy for the Review and
Processing of Applications for Requests for Rezoning” as presented at this meeting, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Community
Development Department to take any and all action necessary to effectuate the terms of the Policy and
this Resolution.
