RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO TOWN OF
QUEENSBURY EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK §701A ENTITLED
“HEALTH INSURANCE FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS”

WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to amend its Employee Handbook §701A “Health
Insurance for Elected Officials” to allow for a revised health insurance contribution plan for employees,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes the amendment of
Employee Handbook §701A entitled “Health Insurance for Elected Officials” to read as follows:
701A Health Insurance for Elected Officials
Full-Time Elected Officials:
?
Full-time elected officials are entitled to the group health, prescription and
dental insurance benefits afforded non-union full-time staff.
?
If the full-time elected official has other qualifying health insurance,
he/she may waive coverage under the Town’s Group Health Insurance
Plans and receive a $95 per month waiver payment.
?
Full-time elected officials are entitled to other employee benefits afforded
non-union full-time staff in the Employee Handbook.
Town Councilpersons:
?
Town Councilpersons are entitled to the group health and prescription
benefits afforded non-union full-time staff.
?
Councilpersons may waive coverage under the Town’s Group Health
Insurance Plans and receive a $95 per month waiver payment.
?
Town Councilpersons may subscribe to the Town’s dental plan by paying
100% of the premiums through payroll deduction.
?
Town Councilpersons are entitled to other employee benefits afforded
non-union part-time staff in the Employee Handbook.

BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor’s
Office to distribute copies of this Resolution to all Town employees and amend the Employee
Handbook accordingly.
