RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENGAGEMENT OF SHELTER
PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT, INC. TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH
APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FROM HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS – NEW YORK STATE ADMINISTERED
SMALL CITIES PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury wishes to apply for Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the New York State Administered Small Cities Program for
the purposes of community development improvements such as housing, public facilities and/or
economic development, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No.: 64,2001, the Town Board scheduled two public hearings
concerning its application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the
New York State Administered Small Cities Program, and
WHEREAS, the Town’s Department of Community Development (Department) has
informed the Town Board that it will need assistance to complete the funding application, and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director of the Department has advised the Town Board that
Shelter Planning & Development, Inc. has offered to assist the Department with the grant
application at no cost, with the exception of being reimbursed for mailing and production costs
of the application, and
WHEREAS, a proposed Agreement between the Town and Shelter Planning has been
presented at this meeting and is in form approved by Town Counsel,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the
engagement of Shelter Planning & Development, Inc., to provide grant application assistance in
connection with the Town’s application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
funds through the New York State Administered Small Cities Program, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that it is the Town Board’s understanding that Shelter Planning &
Development, Inc. will provide the assistance at no cost except to be reimbursed for mailing and
production costs associated with the grant application at a cost not to exceed $500, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that payment for the expenses shall be paid from the New York State
Community Development Technical Assistance Grant Program funds #2000-203 account, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to
execute the Agreement between the Town and Shelter Planning and further authorizes the Town
Supervisor and/or Community Development Department to take any other action necessary to
effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
