197.2001 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN TOWN OF QUEENSBURY AND BEAVERKILL CONSERVANCY, INC., AN AFFILIATE OF THE OPEN SPACE INSTITUTE RESOLUTION NO.: 197, 2001 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Tim Brewer WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr. James Martin WHEREAS, the Beaverkill Conservancy, Inc. (BCI) is an affiliate of the Open Space Institute, both of which organizations work to conserve land for public benefit and recreation, and WHEREAS, BCI has acquired approximately 69.22 acres previously owned by the Faith Bible Church in the Town of Queensbury (Premises) as depicted on a Map prepared by VanDusen & Steves Land Surveyors, LLC dated October 18, 2000 and presented at this meeting, and WHEREAS, the Premises adjoins other undeveloped parcels owned by the Town and the Town wishes to use the Premises for the general public’s recreation and enjoyment, and WHEREAS, the Town wishes to enter into an agreement with BCI which would provide for the Town to manage the Premises in cooperation with BCI for recreation and other public uses, and WHEREAS, a proposed Management Agreement between the Town and BCI has been presented at this meeting and is in form approved by Town Counsel, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves the Management Agreement between the Town of Queensbury and the Beaverkill Conservancy, Inc. substantially in the form presented at this meeting and authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to execute the Management Agreement, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to execute any other documents and take such other and further action as may be necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. th Duly adopted this 7 day of May, 2001, by the following vote: AYES : Mr. Martin, Mr. Turner, Mr. Stec, Mr. Brewer, Mr. Brower NOES : None ABSENT: None
