RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF TWO (2) MATERIAL
SPREADERS AND TWO (2) DUMP BODIES FOR USE BY
TOWN HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Queensbury Town Board previously adopted purchasing procedures which
require that the Town Board must approve any purchase in an amount of $5,000 or greater up to New
York State bidding limits, and
WHEREAS, the Town Highway Superintendent has advised the Town Board that he solicited
bids for the purchase of two (2) material spreaders and two (2) dump bodies for use by the Town
Highway Department, and
WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has requested Town Board approval to purchase the
two (2) material spreaders from the second lowest bidder, Arrowhead, for an amount not to exceed
$4,940 each, as the lowest bidder, Tarrant Manufacturing, is unable to provide the material spreaders
for six to eight weeks, and
WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has requested Town Board approval to purchase the
two (2) dump bodies from the lowest bidder, Arrowhead, for an amount not to exceed $4,950 each,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves of the Highway
Superintendent’s purchase of two (2) material spreaders from Arrowhead for an amount not to exceed
$4,940 each and the purchase of two (2) dump bodies from Arrowhead for an amount not to exceed
$4,950 each, to be paid for from the appropriate Highway Department account, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Highway Superintendent,
Town Comptroller and/or Town Supervisor to take such other and further action as may be necessary
to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
