168.2000 RESOLUTION SETTING PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW NO. __ OF 2000 TO AMEND QUEENSBURY TOWN CODE CHAPTER 124, ENTITLED, "PARKS AND RECREATION AREAS" RESOLUTION NO. 168. 2000 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Tim Brewer WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr. Daniel Stec WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury wishes to consider adoption of Local Law No.: __ of 2000 to amend Queensbury Town Code Chapter 124 entitled, “Parks and Recreation Areas," by adding a new Article II entitled “Prohibition of Firearms” which Local Law would help protect the public from the unauthorized discharge of firearms or bows in Town Parks and Recreation Areas by making it a criminal action to carry and/or discharge a firearm or bow in or near Town Parks and Recreation Areas, and WHEREAS, this legislation is authorized in accordance with New York State Municipal Home Rule Law §10, and WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to set a public hearing concerning adoption of this Local Law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury shall meet and hold a public th hearing at the Queensbury Activities Center, 742 Bay Road, Queensbury at 7:00 p.m. on April 17, 2000, to hear all interested persons and take any necessary action provided by law concerning proposed Local Law No.: ___, 2000, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Queensbury Town Clerk to publish and post a Notice of Public Hearing concerning proposed Local Law No. __ of 2000 in the manner provided by law. rd Duly adopted this 3 day of April, 2000, by the following vote: AYES: Mr. Stec, Mr. Brewer, Mr. Martin, Mr. Turner, Mr. Brower NOES: None ABSENT:None
