OVITT - CONTRACTOR MEMO RE: ARONSON BUILDING PERMIT NO. 85-150 The original plans for this building were approved on April 25, 1985. The present structure is not as those drawings indicated. This department is familiar with the problems encountered during construction. However, my request for approved drawings of the changes in construction methods, has not been complied with. Several inspections have been made since the resumption of construction. Several discussions, with Mr. Dobert and Mr. Ovitt have been very informational. The fact remains; on January 14, 1987, an inspection for framing was made and not approved. A copy of that report is attached, which shows that a request was made for proper plans of the existing construction. Until such approved plans are submitted, I am directing that no further closing in of the work take place. While it is not the intent of this department to delay the work, it is our responsibility to protect the welfare of the homeowner. Considering the failure of the original construction, it is in the best interest of all concerned to have, on file, certification of the method of repair and proper drawings of the existing structure.
