169.95 RESOLUTION INDICATING SUPPORT FOR PROPOSED ZONE CHANGE RESOLUTION NO. 169, 95 INTRODUCED BY: Mrs. Betty Monahan WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mrs. Carol Pulver WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury has actively supported the development of a Town-wide comprehensive land use plan and subsequent revisions to the Town Zoning Code, and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury has fostered the development of a solid light industrial base through the zoning of areas of the Town; Light Industrial - One Acre (LI-1A) and Light Industrial - Three Acres (LI-3A), and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Kingsbury has provided the Town of Queensbury with written notice of a public hearing regarding a proposed change to the Town of Kingsbury Code - Zoning, and WHEREAS, the proposed change to the Town of Kingsbury Code - Zoning involves the addition of a zoning district to be designated Light Industrial (LI-75) with new district boundaries adjoining the Town of Queensbury along County Line Road, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury does hereby support the change to the new light industrial zone, LI-75; with the new zoning district boundaries as proposed, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury supports the proposed change for the following reasons: 1. The proposed location of the new zoning district as well as the uses permitted in the zone will be more in keeping with the light industrial zoning which exists in the area of Queensbury adjoining the Town of Kingsbury. 2. The proposed change will have a positive affect on local highways in the area as the truck traffic which may result from the future development of heavy industry will be eliminated. 3. The future development of light industry will be more compatible with the existing medical products industry located in and around the affected area and will enhance the opportunity to attract manufacturing of a similar nature. 4. The future development of light industry when compared to heavy industrial development will have less of an impact on the adjoining agricultural districts. Duly adopted this 13th day of March, 1995, by the following vote: Ayes: Mrs. Pulver, Mr. Caimano, Mrs. Monahan, Mr. Turner, Mr. Champagne Noes: None Absent:None
