593.95 RESOLUTION WITH REGARD TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF HUDSON RIVER PARK - DECLARATION OF LEAD AGENCY STATUS RESOLUTION NO.: 593.95 INTRODUCED BY: Mrs. Connie Goedert WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mrs. Carol Pulver WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury has secured a Municipal Park Project Grant under the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the Environmental Quality Bond Act of 1986, and WHEREAS, the Grant was secured for purposes of funding the development of a park adjacent to the Hudson River off of Big Boom Road in the Town of Queensbury, and WHEREAS, the aforesaid Grant is a fifty-percent (50%) matching grant and is in the sum of $81,612., and WHEREAS, Warren County is the owner of the property where the park is proposed to be located and the County Board of Supervisors has provided authorization for a revocable license agreement with the Town of Queensbury for use of the County property for a public park and recreation area, and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury has previously adopted a resolution indicating the type of development that it feels is appropriately planned for the area, as well as authorizing the commencement of a SEQRA review of the project, and WHEREAS, the agencies believed to be involved agencies for purposes of a SEQRA review have been contacted and have indicated their consent to the Town Board being lead agent, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby declares itself to be the lead agency in connection with the environmental review of the above-described project, under the State Environmental Quality Review Act, and hereby further authorizes the Town Attorney to forward any notices that may be necessary in connection with such declaration, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby determines it appropriate to wait until additional information is received before making a determination as to potential impacts with regard to the proposed project.
