089.96 RESOLUTION SETTING PUBLIC HEARING FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSED SMALL CITIES GRANT APPLICATION RESOLUTION NO. 89, 96 INTRODUCED BY: Mrs. Connie Goedert WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mrs. Carol Pulver WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will be accepting applications for the Community Development Block Grant Small Cities Program, and WHEREAS, the aforementioned Small Cities Program makes funds available for comprehensive programs providing funds to improve housing, public facilities, and economic development opportunities, and WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury intends to submit a Small Cities application to HUD for the purpose of providing funding for a comprehensive program which may provide housing improvements, job growth, water system improvements and increase recreation opportunities and WHEREAS, the federal regulations relating to proper submission of a Small Cities Grant Application requires two (2) public hearings explaining the Program guidelines and the proposed use of the Grant funds, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury shall hold two (2) public hearings, at which time all parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard and obtain information regarding the proposed Small Cities Grant application, described in the preambles of this resolution, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that said public hearings shall be held on February 26, 1996 and March 4, 1996, at 7:00 p.m., at the Queensbury Activities Center, 742 Bay Road, Queensbury, Warren County, New York, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk of the Town of Queensbury is hereby authorized and directed to give 10 days notice of said public hearing by publishing a notice similar to that presented at this meeting and in a form and containing such other language as the Town Attorney may deem appropriate for purposes of publication in an official newspaper of the Town and by posting on the Town bulletin board outside the Clerk's Office said notice.
