RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
THE RE-ROOFING OF TOWN HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT OFFICE

WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury Highway Department Office needs its roof replaced,
and
WHEREAS, Chuck Rice, Facilities Manager, has recommended to the Town Board that a
firestone or equivalent, fully-adhered roofing system be placed over the existing metal asphalt roof, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury wishes to advertise for bids for the
re-roofing project, and
WHEREAS, a proposed bid package has been prepared by Mr. Rice and presented at this
meeting, and
WHEREAS, §103 of the General Municipal Law requires that the Town advertise for bids and
award the proposed contract to the lowest responsible bidder meeting New York State statutory
requirements and the requirements set forth in the bid documents presented at this meeting,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby authorizes and directs
the Queensbury Town Clerk to publish an advertisement for bids for the re-roofing of the Town
Highway Department Office in the official newspaper for the Town of Queensbury and make bid

documents available on September 11, 1998, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby authorizes and directs
Darleen Dougher, Queensbury Town Clerk, to open all bids received at the Town Clerkâs Office at

2:05 p.m., September 28, 1998, read the same aloud and record the bids as is customarily done and
present the bids to the next regular or special meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury.
