137.99T RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND ADOPTING LIGHT DUTY POLICY FOR TOWN OF QUEENSBURY RESOLUTION NO.: 137, 1999 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Douglas Irish WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr. Richard Merrill WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury wishes to adopt an amendment to its Employee Handbook by adding a new Section 1017 entitled, “Light Duty Policy,” a policy designed to help Town employees return to their regular jobs as soon as possible through temporary, transitional, modified or alternative work when, as a result of an injury or illness arising out of and in the course of employment, they are unable to perform their usual and customary job because of physical limitations, and WHEREAS, the Town discussed the proposed Light Duty Policy with the Town’s CSEA representatives, who reviewed and approved the Policy, and WHEREAS, the proposed Light Duty Policy has been presented at this meeting and is in form approved by the Town Board and Town Counsel, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby adopts the amendment to its Employee Handbook by adding a new Section 1017 entitled, “Light Duty Policy,” as presented at this meeting, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor’s Office to distribute copies of this amendment to all Town employees and amend the Employee Handbook accordingly. th Duly adopted this 19 day of April, 1999 by the following vote: AYES : Mr. Merrill, Mr. Turner, Mr. Irish, Mr. Tucker, Mr. Champagne NOES : None ABSENT : None
