RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENGAGEMENT OF SPCA OF UPSTATE
NEW YORK TO PROVIDE ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES

WHEREAS, Colleen Kimble, the Town of Queensbury’s Animal Control Officer, will be on
maternity leave on or about the beginning of September, 1999 for a three month period, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to provide for animal control services during Ms.
Kimble’s absence, and
WHEREAS, SPCA of Upstate New York, Inc. (SPCA) in its proposal dated July 14, 1999
presented at this meeting, has offered to provide animal control services to the Town for the
approximate three (3) month period for the amount of $1,600 for the first month and a minimum
amount of $1,600 per month for the second and third months, such monthly fee to depend upon the
amount of animal control services needed by the Town during the first month, and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Manager has reviewed the proposal and has recommended that
the Town engage the services of the SPCA, and
WHEREAS, the proposal is in form approved by Town Counsel,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby approves of the
agreement with SPCA of Upstate New York, Inc., to provide animal control services to the Town of
Queensbury for an approximate three month period beginning on or about the beginning of September,
1999 for the amount of $1,600 for the first month and a minimum amount of $1,600 per month for the
second and third months, such monthly fee to depend upon the amount of animal control services
needed by the Town during the first month, such services to be paid for from the appropriate Town
account, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to execute the
proposal with SPCA presented at this meeting, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury authorizes and directs the
Purchasing Manager and/or Town Supervisor to execute any documentation and take such other and
further action as may be necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
