TEXT OF TELECON: Proposed New Septic System
Most recent site plan for project indicates "new septic system" , but gives no
details (Zoning Board meeting scheduled for 03/15/95) . Steve believed a new
leach field was being considered. I indicated based on separation distances, it
may not be possible to fit a leach field where they have indicated the system to
be located. At that point he indicated the system had yet to be designed.
Regarding holding tanks, we discussed two options which may be available to him:
1 ) replace the existing with a new, properly sized and alarmed system according
to the Queensbury standards, or 2) if the existing system is properly
functioning, they may be able to use the "pre-existing systems" zoning category
to possibly continue with its use, provided some type of alarm system was in
place.
Not knowing how the owner wanted to proceed, nor who would design a new system
if one were proposed, Steve indicated he would contact me at a later date with
more information. If a new system were proposed, the Town would likely require
a review.
