RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
PURCHASE OF VERTICAL TURBINE PUMP MOTOR
FOR WATER DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury’s Water Superintendent has advised that a 300 HP
Motor to one of the Water Department’s vertical turbine pumps was found to have a serious
electrical issue during a routine maintenance inspection and has been taken out of service and
therefore he wishes to advertise for bids for the purchase of a new 300 HP Motor as will be set forth
in bid specifications to be prepared by the Water Superintendent and/or Purchasing Agent, and
WHEREAS, General Municipal Law §103 requires that the Town advertise for bids and award
the bid to the lowest responsible bidder(s) meeting New York State statutory requirements and the
requirements set forth in the Town’s bidding documents,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town’s
Purchasing Agent to publish an advertisement for bids for the purchase of a 300 HP Motor for a
vertical turbine pump for the Water Department, in the official newspaper for the Town of
Queensbury, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Purchasing Agent to
open all bids received, read the same aloud and record the bids as is customarily done and present the
bids to the next regular or special meeting of the Town Board.
