004.2010 Advance Approval Claims Deleted: 4.4 Deleted: 2010 ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING\Advance Payments Outside of Audit Deleted: s¶ RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ADVANCE APPROVAL OF CLAIMS RESOLUTION NO.: 4, 2010 Deleted: ________________________ __________________________ INTRODUCED AND SECONDED BY THE ENTIRE TOWN BOARD Deleted: BY: Deleted: _________________________________ _________________ , WHEREASthe Queensbury Town Board sees a need to allow payment of certain Deleted: WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION¶ bills ahead of the regular Town Board audit in order to ensure the continuance of Deleted: SECONDED BY: insurance coverages, avoidance of late charges and timely delivery of certain shipments _________________________________ ___________________¶ and mailings, and ¶ ¶ WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to authorize payment in advance of audit of claims for public utility services, health, dental, workers’ compensation, disability and unemployment insurance premiums, debt service payments, postage, freight and express charges, and WHEREAS, Town Law Sections 64(23) and 118 allow for such payments, and WHEREAS all such claims shall be presented at the next regular meeting for audit, and WHEREAS the claimant and officer incurring or approving such payments shall be jointly and severally liable for any amount disallowed by the Town Board, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes the payment in advance of audit of claims for such premiums for policies that would otherwise lapse before audit, incur late charges, postage, freight and express charges and all such claims shall be presented at the next regular meeting for audit, and the claimant and officer incurring or approving such payments shall be jointly and severally liable for any amount disallowed by the Town Board, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall take effect immediately, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor and/or Town Budget Officer to take any actions necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. st Duly adopted this 1 day of January, 2010, by the following vote: AYES : Mr. Metivier, Mr. Montesi, Mr. Strough, Mr. Brewer, Mr. Stec NOES : None ABSENT: None
