Community Development Department Staff Notes
Project Applicant: LEO LOMBARDO
Application No.: Modification, Site Plan 28-94
Project Location: 1587 State Route 9
SEQR Status: Type -Unlisted
Meeting Date: December 28, 1999
ro'ect Deseri tion:
The applicant proposes modification to an approved site plan. The request is to re-open the
southern most curb cut on Route 9.
taff Notes•
Previous Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals decisions rendered were done with the
condition that the southern most drive be closed and the "center" drive be closed when the "golf
course" area was redeveloped, ultimately leaving only Ow curb cuts to this site from NYS Rte 9. It
is apparent that there are serious accessibility issues associated with this site. A reconfiguration
depicting the previously discussed long-term goal of two curb cuts appears to be a more attractive
alternative rather than adding another drive. Staff has invited comments from both the New York
State Department of Transportation and the Adirondack/Glens Falls Transportation Council.
ecommendation:
Re-opening the southern most curb cut at this site may present negative impacts on not only Rte. 9
traffic but internal traffic patterns as well. Staff would recommend a reconfigured access plan
depicting two curb cuts, as previously discussed.
