1973-08-01 "'S;jl.Nðf''¡'i'\ J Ch1l" QUEENSBURY PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD AT QUEENSBURY TOWN OFFICE BUILDING AUGUST 1, 1973 Presiding: J. Arthur Norton, Chmn. Present: G. Mellon, Secy; R. Roberts, R. Kirkpatrick, S. Richardson, J. Sinnott. Regular Meeting 8:00 P.M. 1. Motion made by Mellon, seconded by Sinnott to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. . , 2. Opened Public Hearing on Sherman Acres, Frank Pulsifer; temporarily withdrawn until receive Health Dept. approval. (49 lots) No one appeared against this application. Public hearing was closed. 30 A letter from attorney William Bacas was read requesting Planning Board members see operations owned by Robert Silver in other parts of the state. No one appeared on the applicant's behalf. 4. Variance #319, Marshall Seelye- to sell travel trailers in à C-l Zone on the property situated at Quaker Road and Highland Avenue; Motion made by Roberts to recommend approval, seconded by Sinnott. Marshall Seelye appeared. (Comments were, "we see no deleterious effect to the area") 5. Variance #320, Cale, Glens Falls, Inc. - (Northway Plaza) to expand an existing shopping center on the property situated at Quaker Road and Upper Glen Street; McAndrews (Castle & Levin) principals, appeared; as did Queen.bury Central Fire Chief Bert Martin, , who explained the vital need for fire protection in that area. There was dis- cussion of need for more parking areas, additional fire hydrants, etc. Motion made by Kirkpatrick, seconded by Mellon to recommend approval subject to providing additional hydrants-Town Water Supt.; Town Engineer, Queensbury Central Fire Chief, Bert Martin, Queensbury Zoning Board - verify parking; also, refer to the Beauti- fication Committee and the Dept. of Transportation for planting on the Right of Way. 6. Marion Jeckel, subdivision on Seelye Road; must submit a map and explain what they want to do, submit to Town Attorney for opinion, also the Adirondack Park Agency. (Plan to divide two plus acres into four lots) The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Queensbury Planning Board is Wednesday, September 5, 1973, 8:00 P.M.
