Facility -flay Road At the above referenced location I observed the installation of the wood framing for the trusses, bearing walls and floor systems prior to installation of fire code gypsum board. As discussed on site there were several items that needed clarification; • There is one instance where the electrician drilled a hole through the bottom chord of a truss to run a wire. While this is not a normally accepted practice in this instance the hole is a 5/8" diameter hole in a 2x10 bottom chord of a double truss at the stair opening and as such I am comfortable with the modification. • In the floor framing there is a floor joist that has had the top chord cut to install the floor drain in the main bathroom. This joist must have blocking added to either side of the top chord to compensate for the removal of a portion of the top chord. This was discussed on site and the repair is being made as discussed. • The gable end truss in the attic: area was modified to add a window to the new office area. The web members were modified to allow for a window to be installed. Additional strong back 2x members were added to the remaining web members to compensate for the web members that were modified. This truss modification is acceptable to this office. • There were several places where hangers were not completely nailed off and also a few areas where web bracing was not completely installed. Most of these areas were addressed during the site visit and all appeared to be acceptable. • As discussed with Mr. Winter there appears to be some mold spores growing on the underside of the floor deck in the crawls space area. Mr. Winter indicated that he would be bleaching down the area in the coming days to alleviate the problem. There is a supply duct being routed to the crawl space to provide mechanical ventilation to the area to prevent future mold growth. Additionally the support columns need to be secured to the concrete floor slab and to the support beams as required. This will be done at the same time the bleaching takes place. All remaining installations appear to be in conformance the construction drawings and are acceptable to this office. If there are any questions please contact our office. R d, an P.
