Our discussions included the following topics. On December 29,'2004 we issued the above referenced building permit to you for the construction of :a "foundation for future addition." This work was approved to include, but be limited to, the construction of a footing, ,frost'wall and concrete slab with the understanding, at least.on, our part, that this would be .considered patio and be used as such until such time that any, building expansion was properly'reviewed and approved.. On January 4;2005, revised plans were submitted by Hilltop Construction for the' expansion of the Winter lodge to include a new, higher roof system and the addition of a screened in "porch" area. While these plans were added to the existing permit file (BP-2004-936) no revised Building Permit was ever issued. To date, no such revised permit has been issued. My-discussion with Mr. Albrecht revealed that he is clearly aware of the "don't build without a permit process." A February 3, 2005 investigation of the site revealed that the building had been expanded even though no permit for such construction had been issued. While it is true that .we have performed limited inspections on -this, to date, unapproved structure, the fact remains that no permit has been issued. Huggard February 22,2005 ' Page 2 of 2 Needless to say, this is somewhat troubling to me. Given the current, yet unresolved discrepancies with the development of the Administration Building on this site, one would hope that all precautions would be taken to avoid further difficulties, especially,since the same parties are aware of and involved with the construction of both projects. Therefore, please consider this letter to be a formal STOP WORK ORDER. No .further work is to be performed on or around the building until the necessary approvals.have been issued. Photographs taken on February'3, 2005 will serve to document the condition of the building and site. I will continue to review this matter along with the previous approvals issued to this property and render a decision in the,near future relative to all necessary, reviews for the "Winter Lodge Project."
