RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER NO.: 001 WITH
BLUESCOPE CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
HIGHWAY STORAGE BUILDING ON BIG BAY ROAD

WHEREAS, by Resolution No.: 162, 2021, the Queensbury Town Board authorized the: 1)
establishment of a Highway Building on Big Bay Road Capital Project No. 238 to establish
funding for expenses related to the purchase and construction of a Highway Department Storage
Building on Big Bay Road (Storage Building); 2) finalization of a Storage Building design consistent
with the Sourcewell cooperative, municipal purchasing program; and 3) purchase and construction of a
Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) Storage Building by BlueScope Construction Inc.’s (BlueScope) in
accordance with Sourcewell and BlueScope’s April 23, 2021 proposal for the amount of $534,060,
and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No.: 222, 2021, the Town Board authorized BlueScope’s Revised
Proposal/Agreement dated June 3, 2021 for the Storage Building for the amount of $460,702, and
WHEREAS, the Town’s Wastewater Director/Water Superintendent has requested certain
changes to the Storage Building due to the anticipated intermittent winter time use of the Storage
Building and its location downstream of the oil/water separator, and
WHEREAS, BlueScope has presented the Town with Change Order No.: 001 dated 19-
Aug-21 providing for these recommended changes in the amount of $10,283 bringing the total
Contract amount for the Storage Building to $470,985, and
WHEREAS, Resolution No.: 162, 2021 was adopted subject to Permissive Referendum and
the Permissive Referendum period has passed and the total proposed Contract amount of $470,985 is
for a lesser amount so no additional Permissive Referendum is required, and
WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury will continue to adhere to all New York State
bidding requirements,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and approves BlueScope
Construction, Inc.’s Change Order No.: 001 dated 19-Aug-21 pertaining to the purchase and
construction of a Highway Department Storage Building on Big Bay Road (Storage Building) as
described in the preambles of this Resolution in the amount of $10,283 bringing the total Contract
amount to $470,985 to be paid for from the Highway Building on Big Bay Road Capital Project
Fund #238, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to
execute Change Order No.: 001 substantially in the form presented at this meeting and/or any
other needed documentation, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes and directs the Town Budget Officer to adjust
the Project’s appropriations and/or take any other needed actions as necessary to provide for payment,
and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Town
Highway Superintendent, Town Wastewater Director/Water Superintendent and/or Town Budget
Officer to take all other actions necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
