RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROMOTION OF DAKOTA SAWN
FROM LABORER TO MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (MEO)
IN TOWN HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
RESOLUTION NO. 318, 2021

WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury’s Highway Superintendent has advised that there is
currently a vacancy in the Motor Equipment Operator (MEO) position in the Town Highway
Department, and
WHEREAS, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Highway
Superintendent posted for such position, and
WHEREAS, Dakota Sawn, a current Laborer within the Department, has requested a
promotion to the position, and
WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent recommends that the Town Board authorize the
promotion of Mr. Sawn from Laborer to MEO as Mr. Sawn has met the qualifications and has the
required job experience for the position, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to authorize the requested promotion,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the promotion
of Dakota Sawn from Laborer to Motor Equipment Operator (MEO) in the Town Highway

Department effective on or about September 28, 2021 at the rate of pay specified in the Town’s
CSEA Union Agreement for the MEO position, subject to a ninety (90) day probationary period and
any other applicable Civil Service requirements, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Town
Highway Superintendent and/or Budget Officer to complete any forms and take any action necessary
to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
