375.2021 Authorizing Remuneration to Department Managers for Unused Vacation Time RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REMUNERATION TO DEPARTMENT MANAGERS FOR UNUSED VACATION TIME RESOLUTION NO.: 375, 2021 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Anthony Metivier WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr. Harrison Freer WHEREAS, due to their workloads, Town of Queensbury Department Managers are sometimes unable to use all of their earned vacation time before year’s end, thus exceeding the Town’s maximum vacation carryover limits, and WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to authorize remuneration for such unused vacation time up to a maximum of 10 days per year at the respective Department Manager’s current rate of compensation, provided that the Department Manager submits a written request for such compensation st to the Town Accounting Office by no later than December 1 of each year, such compensation to be paid in the last pay period of the year in which the vacation time was earned and remains unused, and WHEREAS, the following Departments’ Managers shall be eligible for such remuneration:  Supervisor’s Office  Town Clerk’s Office  Town Highway Superintendent’s Office  Accounting  Parks and Recreation  Town Counsel’s Office  Assessor  Planning and Zoning / Community Development  Building and Codes  Building and Grounds/Facilities  Cemetery  Water and Wastewater and WHEREAS, the Town Board reserves the right to amend the group of eligible individuals by Resolution in the future, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town Budget Officer to arrange for the remuneration of the Department Manager’s unused vacation time up to a maximum of 10 days per year at the respective Department Manager’s current rate of compensation, provided that the Department Manager submits a written request for such compensation st to the Town Accounting Office by no later than December 1 of each year, such compensation to be paid in the last pay period of the year in which the vacation time was earned and remains unused, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the following Departments’ Managers shall be eligible for such remuneration:  Supervisor’s Office  Town Clerk’s Office  Town Highway Superintendent’s Office  Accounting  Parks and Recreation  Town Counsel’s Office  Assessor  Planning and Zoning / Community Development  Building and Codes  Building and Grounds/Facilities  Cemetery  Water and Wastewater and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board reserves the right to amend the group of eligible individuals by Resolution in the future, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor and/or Town Budget Officer to take any actions necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. th Duly adopted this 15 day of November, 2021, by the following vote: AYES : Mr. McNulty, Mr. Strough, Mr. Metivier, Mr. Freer, Mr. Ferone NOES : None ABSENT : None
