RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING 1 DEPUTY RECEIVER OF TAXES AND
ASSESSMENTS ROSE MELLON THE OPTION TO CARRY OVER OR
RECEIVE REMUNERATION FOR UNUSED VACATION TIME

WHEREAS, by Resolution 272, 2021, the Queensbury Town Board acknowledged the Town

Clerk and Receiver of Taxes and Assessments’ appointment of former 1 Deputy Town Clerk Rose
st
Mellon as 1 Deputy Receiver of Taxes and Assessments, such Resolution resulting in a change of Ms.
Mellon’s employee status from exempt to non-exempt, and
WHEREAS, as a result of staffing changes in the Town Clerk and Receiver of Taxes and
Assessments’ Office, Ms. Mellon has accumulated 10 vacation days that she may not be able to use

before December 31, 2021 without leaving the Offices short-staffed, and therefore the Town Clerk
and Receiver of Taxes and Assessments has recommended that the Town Board approve Ms. Mellon
st
the option of either carrying over up to 10 vacation days beyond December 31, 2021 or receiving
remuneration for such time at Ms. Mellon’s current rate of compensation, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has considered and wishes to approve this request with the
understanding that such approval shall not be considered as a precedent for approval of any future
requests for any Town employees,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes 1 Deputy Receiver of
Taxes and Assessments Rose Mellon the option of either carrying over up to 10 vacation days beyond

December 31, 2021 to be used during 2022 or receiving remuneration for such unused vacation time
at Ms. Mellon’s current rate of compensation, provided that Ms. Mellon submits a written request for
her desired option to the Town’s Accounting Office, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Budget Officer to
arrange for the accounting of either the carryover of such vacation days or the remuneration of Ms.
Mellon’s unused vacation time, such approval not to be considered as a precedent for approval of any
future requests for any Town employees, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Town
Clerk/Receiver of Taxes and Assessments and/or Town Budget Officer to take any actions necessary
to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
