Chazen Project # 91204.04
Queensbury Ref No: Site Plan 7-2012
Dear Mr. Brown:
The Chazen Companies (Chazen) has received the latest submissionto technical comments
offered by Chazen on January 12, 2012. Based upon our review, C
for the Towns consideration:
Stormwater Management & Erosion and Sediment Control:
1.In response to comment 1 of Chazens January 12, 2012 letter, the Applicant has provided
stormwater calculations for the 50-yr storm interval in conformance with Section 179-6-080 of
the Town code. However, the results of these calculations indicate that the proposed
improvements will result in a very small increase in stormwater runoff from existing to proposed
conditions, and therefore does not meet the above referenced cod
that this increase is negligible and has indicated that post-construction stormwater controls are
not necessary. As such, the Applicant must request a waiver from the pos-development runoff
requirements.
Due to the highly permeable soils on-site and the minimal increase in stormwater runoff, we
would not take acceptance to the Planning Board granting said waiver.
2.In response to comment 5 of Chazens January 12, 2012 letter, the Applicant has indicated that
the proposed roadside swale will be vegetated as grass and no further lining of the swale is
proposed. It is noted that this swale is quite steep, and that armoring the swale may be
necessary. It is requested that the Applicant provide flow calculations for the runoff that is
expected to in the swale, based on a 100-year return interval storm, and provide channel

armoring as necessary. Also, the Applicant could consider incorporating the temporary check
dams to be used in the swale during construction, be made permanent as they would promote
the infiltration of stormwater within the swale.
Conclusions and Recommendations
It is our opinion that the applicant should provide clarificatio
changes in subsequent submissions.
