2009-11-10 Queensbury Parks and Recreation Commission Queensbury, NY 12804 Minutes of the November 10, 2009 regular meeting of the Queensbury Parks and Recreation Commission held at the Town of Queensbury Supervisor's Conference Room Chairman Irish called the meeting to order at 7: OOpm Roll Call: • Present— Fusco, Irish, LaBombard, Maine, Mott, White • Excused—Conboy • Staff—Director Lovering, • Guests—none Approval of Minutes: It was moved by Commissioner Maine , seconded by Commissioner Mott , to approve the minutes from the October 6, 2009 meeting. All members present approved. Commissioner LaBombard would like the record to show Commissioner White did an outstanding job in conducting the meeting in the absence of Chairman Irish. Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see file for copies) • Monthly Correspondence o E-mail from Howard Raymond to Director Lovering regarding improvements to Feeder Canal Park • Budget Control Report as of 11/05/2009 distributed • Employee Roster Report as of 11/02/2009 distributed Unfinished Business • Gurney Lane Master Plan reviewed. The draft presented last month has a couple of minor changes which were explained by Director Lovering. One approach to this project would be to upgrade existing facilities and then build new areas of the plan as funding becomes available. Discussion on amphitheater stage and possible related costs. Motion by Commissioner LaBombard , seconded by Commissioner Maine to approve the Gurney Lane Master Plan as presented. All members present approved. • Feeder Canal Park Grant Project-work on this project is pretty much completed with grading and lawn areas, picnic tables and benches walkways, and fencing adding to the beauty of this park. • Glen Lake Dock/Hydrant Project-successfully completed at the end of October at an estimated cost of$20,500. • Queensbury Rowing Club—discussion as to whether to continue with this organization for the 2010 season. To be placed on December agenda for further discussion. New Business • Directors Recommendations on 2010 Parks Priority List Director Lovering presented to Commission his recommendations for projects both short and long term (see file for list). Commission consensus is the list generated by Director Lovering is supported by the Commission and should be used as we go forward in 2010. Adjournment- A Motion made by Commissioner Mott, seconded by Commissioner Maine to adjourn the meeting at 8:25pm . All members present approved.
