February 17,2022 6500 Sheridan Drive Suite 12 Buffalo,NY 14221 TpvNN p QUBEISBURY DF1 BUIL DINGSSLE COPY RE: Thomas Harvey, 18 Linden venue, Queensbury,NY 12804 Dear Heather, O p=j O O r N Per your request we conducted a Preliminary Structural Condition Assessment that a M included an on-site visit on 2/10/22, an observational examination of the existing roof o fp structure, and a review of any drawings, blueprints, or sketches that were available. rt D iN PV solar panels are proposed for two areas of the roof of this home as summarized c 3 below. The panels are mounted on rails which are attached to the roof with an anchored o I deck base system installed per manufacturer's specifications and recommendations. rp D I found that the roof structure, as noted on Site Plan PV-S 1,can satisfactorily withstand p the additional loads as proposed and will also meet the applicable standards included in RCNYS 2020 and ASCE 7-16. V My analysis indicates that the areas of the existing roof, where the additional weight is to N be located, and only as it applies to Solar Liberty specified equipment and their tributary O areas, are capable of supporting a total load of at least 57 psf. N In 2016 the roofing was replaced, was a tear off, and a single layer of asphalt shingle roofing was added to the existing plywood sheathing. The maximum existing total load on these areas of the roof is estimated to be 49 psf (DL=10,LL=39) leaving an available capacity of at least 8 psf. The average weight of the proposed solar panels and framework is less than 4 psf. Therefore, the roof framing in these areas will not be overstressed by the installation of the solar panels and framework. r Thank you for the opportunity to be of service, sincerely. OF NEh }' R?
